Baška Voda

2 Real estate

Once a village of farmers, fishermen and sailors, today, thanks to tourism, it is a desirable and branded destination primarily for family tourism. Numerous infrastructural facilities classify Baška Voda as one of the more urban settlements on the Makarska Riviera, which can be said to have all the characteristics of a small Mediterranean town and the recognizable spirit of a small town. The invasive development of tourism in the past influenced the construction of larger family houses, while in recent years the concept of more modern apartments is in trend.

Baška Voda has 1,835 inhabitants (data from 2021), while administratively Bast, Krvavica and Promajna also belong to this municipality. The Biokovo villages Topići and Bast, located just above Baška Voda, embraced by the beautiful, preserved nature of the Biokovo massif, are highly sought-after locations for the construction of urban luxury villas.

Did you know that Baška Voda got its name because of the source of drinking water, which was discovered in this area in the Bronze Age and next to which the original settlement was formed? This is evidenced today by the fountain on the waterfront with a sculpture of a woman doing laundry.
